NEC CHRISTCHURCH - MEET OUR PEOPLE GAIL POWER ADMINISTRATOR I’m new to the role here at NEC Christchurch and really enjoying it. It is a great challenge to help get more systems and communication in place and work with a great team of people. I am also the Event Secretary for SJ Canterbury and have vast experience working and chairing committees. I’ve only ridden a horse possibly 3 times in my life, it is my 19 year old daughter Zara who has the equine bug and I just love it!!! Am always willing to help anyone!

ALL GROUNDS ARE OPEN FOR TRAINING! OPEN ALL HOLIDAY PERIOD APART FROM 4th - 7th January 2021 while the Coprice Showtym Camp is on! During this period only the XC will be open but you are expected to give right of way to the training groups please. Did you know that you are allowed to train on the NRM and Dressage Arena in Siberia as part of the training grounds? If there is a competition there the following weekend it is normally groomed on the Tuesday/Wednesday and this is w...hen we ask you not to use it please! NEC grounds all Open! Please note that the NZ National Jumping Championship is being held next week at NEC. This means that all grounds apart from XC will be closed from first thing Tuesday 19th January in preparation. The XC will close on Thursday 21st until the Sunday 24th. There will be no parking on site available either for campers or riders wishing to use Roydvale. This is such a big show with competitors from all over NZ and I'm sure you will all appreciate this request.

Hi Equestrian Family, In honour of Sophie Simson and her talent for capturing beautiful images, we have set up a temporary website to allow people to purchase p...hotos at a discounted rate. These will only be available until 1st January 2021 and then the website will be shut down. https://sophiesimson.photodeck.com All the received funds will be used to contribute towards her Memorial costs and to help support her children in the coming months. I have mostly uploaded events from 2019 and 2020, Let me know if you are after anything in particular. GROUND CLOSURE @ NEC Please note that a the competition area including NRM arenas are now closed for the week. There has been extensive grooming and work out in to these for Dressage Canterbury Show, this coming weekend and all surfaces are now off limits. The entire training ground is still open, however it is closed from 2pm Tuesday for the evening as Eventing Canterbury have their Twilight event. AND THE GATE IS AMAZING!!!!

The gate is automatic! There is a lot of very generous companies that have contributed hugely to get this beast of a gate mobile. We would like to thank the fo...llowing and would appreciate you supporting them if you can. :-) Along with the 3 disciplines being Dressage, Eventing and Show Jumping all working and coming together to fit the short fall. Just in time for the Cooltranz Canterbury Dressage Championships.

Progress - the gate is in place!!! However, for the next few days it is still manual and you will need to roll it open and closed please. Just temporarily people, we promise. Once all the gear is in place it will be all go!!! Doesnt it look so good
