Save the Wingham Trailer Park 05.12.2020

There appears to be an un-announced and unscheduled emergency North Huron Township Council meet tomorrow morning Friday Aug 14th, at 9am to finalize the selling of our community trailer park. Everyone should show up. Reeve Bailey and his band of cohorts are going against the community that elected them to satisfy their personal agenda and satisfy their friends goal of building in the park. Their idea that selling the park for pennies of the dollar will create housing for the... manufacturers employees as well as lowering the taxes is ridiculous. We were told the same thing when the main street ball park and lawn bowling green were sold, yet we didn't see any reduction in our taxes just increase after increase. Our neighbouring communities seem to be growing in leaps and bounds while Wingham's facilities keep disappearing. With the survival of the Wingham Legion at stake, the loss of income to keep the Legion afloat will have to be found somewhere else. It's just a matter of time till we hear its closing too. Wingham will have less appeal to bring new families to town. What's next on the agenda, Cruickshank Park on the main Street ? The backwards thinking along with the under handed back room dealings of this Reeve and council are shameful and do no service to the community. Just remember when you go to vote in the next municipal election that we need to replace these villains that are destroying are community. We need a progressive or forward thinking council for the future of our little town we cherish so much. I know, I will be doing what ever I can canvassing for their replacement and leading the charge on social media. I hope you join me and make this the last reign of this Reeves political nonsense. Regards, Michael Rintoul PS. Dont get me started on the Reeve's new river front home and flip flopping he has done on the dam replacement. Dont forget to Like, share or leave a comment. There is always this option. What are your thoughts? https://www.ola.org//legislative-business/bills/parliament

Well with great sadness, I'm sorry to say that the North Huron Township Council voted unanimously to sell the park for redevelopment and not renew the legion lease. So in short the this is probably the last summer for the Wingham Trailer Park Campers. Pretty disappointed As for the petition the council only accepted the hand signed petition but only the ones with a Wingham address. They did not accept the 315 online signatures from change.org. They said it does not meet... their standards for petitions. In our view we tried to do the best for the town, legion and the trailer park. Thanks to all that support our efforts. Many thanks. Mike

Save the Wingham Trailer Park 24.10.2020

The Wingham Trailer Park Campers would like to thank all those who signed our petition in the hope of saving the trailer park. In 8 days we gathered 415 signatures online and in person. Unfortunately we were caught off guard and on Thursday evening we found out that there was a council meeting regarding the trailer park this coming Monday Aug 10th at 6.00 pm at the Wingham Town Hall. We managed to get the petition in by Friday before noon, which they accepted even though ...the dead line was on Wednesday. They then posted the agenda online late Friday afternoon. 4 days before the council meeting. Main issues to be discussed are: 1. A report from Burnside Engineering on the environmental study that has been concluded. 2. Possible final decision on the future of the trailer park. (Sell it or keep it) 3. Final decision on whether to renew the management lease with Wingham Legion or close the park. We may get a chance to speak for a couple minutes and share our concerns at the beginning of the council meetng. Beside myself speaking and representing the Trailer Park Campers we have one spot to fill. We would appreciate If some one else would come and share their concern in front of council. If interested please send me a private message. I think it would be amazing that as a community we could gather outside the Wingham Town Hall around 6 pm and give our voice and support to Save the Wingham Trailer Park. The more that show, the louder the voice. Come talk with others and share your thoughts. Once it gone, it's gone and Wingham misses out. Hope to see you there!!! Please respect all Covid-19 regulations that are in effect with social distancing and mask. Don't forget to like and share. Once again, thanks for supporting the Wingham Trailer Park and the Trailer Park Campers. Much appreciated Mike Rintoul Cindy Anger The council meeting is also available to view live online at the councils YouTube page. https://www.youtube.com/user/TwpofNorthHuron
