UPDATE 10/16: Up until this comment, there have been no reported sightings of the otter, and we have not been able to locate it at all. We have been in contact with the Fish & Game Commission. It is not the expectation of us or them that it is still in the area. We still advise anyone/everyone to report anything if they see something. . UPDATE:It should be noted that despite the lighthearted nature of the comments, people were bit and are being treated for those bites, we ar...e treating this situation seriously and expect everyone to exercise caution. . . We have reports of an otter coming from the and trying to attack people who go anywhere near it. It's been seen around the boat house area and in the Back Lakefront area (LF 30s)..if you see an otter, report it to the office and DO NOT APPROACH IT. Sadly, this is not a joke. See more

Hello everyone, For those of you that will be with us for our Halloween weekend (10/23-10/25), we want everyone to know that there will still be trick or treating to the campsites. Unfortunately, there will not be a party at the pavilion, but we still want to see you all in your awesome costumes! We will still do a walk that will start at the ballfield, and loop around the activity center, and don't worry, we will make it worth the trip for the children still . Unfortunately..., we will not have a DJ, so you will all have to enjoy your Halloween treats around the campfire instead! For those of you interested in keeping track of the fall foliage in our area, here is a copy of this week's Fall Foliage Report, along with a summary of our Central Region in the Poconos. Still a little early, but some species have started to really turn color this week. Ash and Hickory trees continue to turn a dull brown color and not hanging on trees very long due to the dry weather we have had lately. Black Gum have begun turning, adding a brighter red color to the landsca...pe. The Red Maple mostly around swamps and wet areas are turning bright red color. Some Sugar Maples in the area have started to turn a yellow/orange color. Sassafras and Poison Ivy have been changing, adding colors of orange and red to the forest. One area that always seems to change color early is around Tobyhanna. Visitors looking to find some of the better early color changes can expect to see it in this area, especially around the swamp and wet areas. Full color is at 5-10% with 99% of the leaves on the trees. The projected date for peak color is October 18 through 24. See more
