The response to our new Ecopond/pool has been overwhelming! Thank you for all your interest and questions! To clarify, our day visitor fee has always been $5 per person. This allows you to use our amenities, bbq area, playgrounds, mountain bike track, explore the creek, have a picnic or a get together with friends. The price is still $5 (under 4’s are free) and now you also get to have a swim. I apologise for any confusion or misunderstanding that I was offering a free service. Please let us know you are coming- you need to book to ensure we are not over full. Thanks again for your interest and support. I totally underestimated the response we’ve had to this!
Some more images of our recreation pond for Murphy's Creek Escape A great addition to a wonderful camping ground!
This is our new Ecopond/pool. Not images of our creek. In the day time light. To answer a few commonly asked questions. Yes, its for swimming but you have to share it with the fish it's been placed just out the front of reception off the deck. We will be opening it to day visitors as well (please let us know you are coming as the office has sporadic hours through summer). Please remember you MUST use reef safe, zinc based (and preferably chemical free) sunscreen to ensure the natural ecosystem stays healthy and happy.
The water and plants are in. Filtering overnight to clear the water and open to guests tomorrow afternoon. Remember if you are coming to bring zinc based, reef safe sunscreen. Am amazing product by Glen Stewart and James at Eco Billabongs.
Finally! The water is going in. Councils done their final approvals. Plants go in tomorrow and fish next week! Exciting days
The eco pool/pond is taking shape now.
Some updated photos of our eco fishpond that you can in. We’ve had some weather delays but are confident we’ll be swimming before the school holidays. The first picture is of the wetlands filtration area. This will be filled with plants and fish to assist the filtration process and help keep the water pristine without the use of harsh chemicals like chlorine. The second picture shows the pool itself with the 3 tiered waterfall on the right hand side. This pool will also providen a home for fish to aid in keeping the water clean. To swim in our fishpond guests will need to wear reef safe, zinc based sunscreen. Other sunscreens will harm the environment and kill the fish and plants. We will have some for sale at cost price in our shop for those who want to swim but forget the environmentally friendly version.
Coming to us every second Friday. Rachel is an excellent therapist using horses to help people with mental illness, trauma and disabilities. Contact Equine Assisted Psychotherapy directly for appointments and availability.
