A MESSAGE FROM THE GRANGE FAIR EMPORIUM... There have been questions regarding the supply of mugs, ornaments and wine cooler for 2020. Following the sale day on August 15 when we ran out of mugs and ornaments, I contacted the suppliers for those items. I was able to order more. The ornament maker contacted me last week to say there was a problem and that there would be a delay and she could not give me a projected delivery date. The mugs are on their way. As to the win...e coolers, the folks at Westerwald have said they will try to make the 67 they were unable to deliver in August. They would try to have them here by the first week in December. However, they indicated that they are a small group, and if any one of them would get the Covid they would have to shut down for the two weeks of quarantine. Further, they are not an essential business, so another shut-down in the state or their county will bring things to a halt. In essence, there are no guarantees that more coolers will be available this year. I made the mistake of telling people, including those who helped at our sale, about the potential for the additional pottery, mugs and ornaments. It is apparent those folks did not include the precautionary parts of my speech. As of now, we are awaiting delivery of the mugs and the ornaments. Should they arrive in the next several weeks, we may offer another sale day as we did in August. This time the pick-up would be in the parking lot of the Administration Building, with line up on the berm beside the Fair Grounds on South Hoffer, and would be a cash only sale (no hold up for credit card or checks). However, if there is a delay with the ornaments, we will wait and have another sale day with ornaments, mugs and coolers in the beginning of December. We are not taking orders or reserving anything. I anticipate that the number of ornaments and mugs I re-ordered will give us sufficient numbers to have some available for the 2021 Fair. I would remind everyone that we are a souvenir shop which is open ten days of the year, not a major retailer with hundreds of associates. Any and all questions regarding the Emporium or the items we offer should be directed to me as the Chair of the Merchandising Committee. My email is [email protected]
