All 8 chosen NHS staff have accepted our complementary Wellbeing Day in Spring 2021. We are so pleased! We asked for nominations from the public for NHS staff you felt deserved a restorative and rejuvenating day for themselves. The nomination list was huge ! Some of the stories behind the nominees brought us to tears and all showed what an inspiration these NHS warriors are to so many people. ... The day will take place at Goxhill Meadows as soon as it is safe to do so. The 8 ladies will be hosted by Paula Cullen and Jayne Haigh and will have the opportunity to do a variety of facilitated activities, be in nature and relax with like-minded people. These utterly magical moments with my mum today brought tears to my eyes and a huge smile to my face . At 82 years of age and with advanced Alzheimers my mum very rarely goes outside, finds it hard to walk more than a few steps and remembers very little ... she struggles to recall who her closest family members are. Today she even seemed to forget that she is petrified of horses and has been all her life . It was so special to see her smile and want to stay longer with the ...ponies. Never underestimate the benefits animals can offer for those who seem normally to be hard to reach. And never, ever underestimate your mum! See more

More Haku pictures! She is loved already

Happy Haku news! We all love this pretty pony so much, and finding the perfect home was very important to us all. She has the sweetest nature, and we always tru...sted her 100% whenever she was handled by our smallest riders. She does have Equine Cushing's disease, which is well controlled by one little pink tablet daily. This condition does put her at risk of laminitis, so her weight needs to be keep in check, which isn't easy with greedy ponies! So Libby was so pleased to meet a lovely lady called Jayne. Jayne is hoping to start up an Equine therapy facility, to give children the opportunity to enact with ponies. After a lot of conversation and discussion about Haku's needs, Jayne decided to give her the home she deserves. So committed to doing the best for Haku, Jayne immediately set up a track grazing system in her field, which means that Haku will be constantly moving as she is eats the grass. This is fabulous, as it reproduces how native ponies like Haku would feed in the wild. Haku is also going to continue to be gently ridden, which is great for both her mental and physical health. Jayne's daughter Rosie wants to be a vet, and she took great interest in learning about Cushing's. She immediately took responsibility for ensuring that the little pink tablet is taken every day!! We are so pleased that Haku has settled so well, and we have promised Jayne that we are always available if she has any concerns about Haku.
